Vermicompost (Worm Composting)

Vermicomposting is such an easy way to reduce your waste stream and improve your soil quality.  Worms eat your leftover food scraps and magically turn it into soil amendment!   Learn the basics of vermicomposting in this class and leave with your very own ready-to-go bucket system.  This is wonderful for large and small homes.

I will be discussing types of worms, appropriate materials, common troubles & different bin systems.  I will demonstrate how to set up a worm bin, how to harvest the castings, and how to brew compost tea (which can be used as a liquid fertilizer and a foliar spray).   I will also go over the environmental benefits of vermicomposting both in your own garden and at the global scale.

Cost $50/person and includes a 2 bucket bin & red wigglers.
